Described by JazzTimes as “a revelation,” the breathtaking young Pianist and winner of the Montreux Jazz Piano Solo Competition matches astonishing technique with deep feeling and a mastery of the Afro-Cuban, modern jazz, and classical traditions.

In addition to his Montreux win, the Havana native won Cuba’s prestigious International Contest for Young Jazz Musicians (JoJazz Festival) in 2007 and the 2013 Best Jazz Project Award and was listed among the other rising stars in Vanity Fair’s article “The Jazz Youth-Quake.”

Pacheco sold out his solo piano debut at Lincoln Center in 2015 and has performed in various and important settings around the world, from the Legendary Apollo Theater in New York to the Kennedy Center and many others. As a composer, Pacheco premiered his A Symphony for Jazz Quartet and Symphonic Orchestra at the National Theater of Cuba in 2018.  He has collaborated with Wynton Marsalis, Arturo O’Farrill, Dave Weckl, Lenny White, Teresa Garcia Caturla (Tete Caturla) from the Buena Vista Social Club, Isaac Delgado, Alexander Abreu, saxophonist Bill Evans, Hailey Reinhart and Richie Goods, among others.  He released accomplished albums with different formats including his latest with his European Quartet, the 2022 with Ropeadope Records, The Lockdown Album.
